Dr Jo Guiver from the University of Central Lancashire presented her findings of her on-line survey of winter weather disruption from late 2010 early 2011. The disruption to rail, air and road was significant. Users reported significant dissatisfaction with the information that was provided by operators but it was also clear that there was a real diversity of websites accessed for information. The potential for real-time user to user information exchange seems to exist as well as for network managers to feed their data direct to users.
